Important preparation for EEG: Wash hair thoroughly the night before — no hair oil, gel or conditioner on the day of test. Have a light meal 2–3 hours before (avoid fasting). For sleep-deprived EEG, stay awake after midnight the night before. Continue all medications unless your neurologist specifically instructs otherwise.

EEG Test Process — What to Expect

Arrival & Preparation

Wash hair at home, arrive with clean dry hair. No oil, gel or conditioner. Reception team will guide you.

Electrode Placement

Small metal electrodes are attached to your scalp using a water-based paste. This takes 15–20 minutes. Completely painless.

Recording (30–60 minutes)

Lie still with eyes open and closed as instructed. Breathe normally. You may be asked to hyperventilate briefly or watch flashing lights.

Electrode Removal

Electrodes removed. Hair cleaned. You can resume all normal activities immediately — no downtime.

EEG report prepared by our specialist consultant and sent on WhatsApp and email the same day.
