PSMA PET CT
Used in selected patients with prostate cancer to assess spread or recurrence and help guide treatment decisions. The treating specialist decides whether it is appropriate. Confirm the prescribed tracer and appointment.
DOTA PET CT
Somatostatin-receptor PET imaging may be prescribed for certain neuroendocrine tumours. DOTA PET CT is available; confirm the exact tracer named in your prescription and the scan date before travelling.
Which study do I need?
FDG, PSMA and DOTA are not interchangeable. Follow your treating specialist’s prescription; contact the centre if the tracer or study name is unclear.

- Send or bring the prescription and relevant previous reports.
- Ask the team how long you must fast and whether plain water is allowed.
- Tell the team about diabetes, pregnancy, breastfeeding, medicines or recent treatment.
- Plan enough time for preparation, tracer uptake, scanning and post-scan instructions.
- Do not stop diabetes medicines or other treatment yourself. Ask for instructions specific to your tracer and clinical history.

Can I walk in for PET CT?
You can walk in for guidance, but the scan should be booked in advance because preparation and tracer availability must be confirmed.
Can a diabetic patient have PET CT?
Diabetic patients may need specific scheduling and medicine or meal instructions. Tell the team about diabetes when booking and follow the instructions provided.
What should I bring?
Bring the prescription, relevant biopsy or pathology information, previous scans and reports, current medicine details and an ID if required.
Are PSMA and DOTA PET CT scans available?
Yes. Adhiraj Imaging offers PSMA and DOTA PET CT. Contact the team with the prescribed study name to confirm the exact tracer, preparation, price and appointment date. These studies are selected for specific clinical indications and are not substitutes for each other.
Will my PET CT report be ready in four hours?
The approximately four-hour reporting time for most other scans does not apply to PET CT. Ask the team for the expected PET CT report time when booking, especially if you have a follow-up appointment elsewhere.
Is the centre open on Sunday?
Yes. The centre is open Sunday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. PET CT requires a confirmed appointment; opening hours do not guarantee a tracer or scan slot.
