NCV / EMG — What to Expect During the Test
NCV (Nerve Conduction)
Small electrodes placed on skin. Brief, mild electrical pulses applied. You feel a small tingling or tap — most patients tolerate it well. Takes 20–40 minutes.
EMG (if required)
A thin needle electrode is inserted into specific muscles to record activity. Mildly uncomfortable — like a blood test. Takes 15–30 minutes.
